pseudoscience
Everything seems to happen in threes. I don't have an explanation for it, but it does.
The 20th century was a prime example of this.
Eugenics was pseudoscience - promoted by supposedly well-known scientists, university professors, celebrities, government representatives, and mass media.
Another example of pseudoscience, which again took place in the early 20th century, was a peasant's claim that he discovered how to manipulate seeds that would carry on healthy attributes in future growths, thereby passing on an improved agriculture for future generations. As with eugenics, opponents were dismissed or vilified.
In the end, millions of innocent citizens were starved to death - another evil, evil event in recent history.
